Are council consent issues strangling your projects, and growth?
Our StoryThe Auckland Construction Collective was formed in response to growing concern around council consent processes and the urgent need for meaningful improvement.
Across the sector, businesses have been significantly impacted by ongoing delays, shifting requirements, and prolonged approval processes. These challenges have created a compounding effect - contributing to financial strain, project uncertainty, and, in many cases, business failure.
The inconsistency and inefficiency experienced through consent pathways have eroded confidence, strained relationships, and disrupted timelines, budgets, and livelihoods. The impact is not isolated — it is being felt across the entire construction sector and, ultimately, within the wider New Zealand economy.
Addressing this is both necessary and time-critical.
The Collective aims to bring industry voices together to clearly identify where processes are breaking down, present these insights constructively to council, and work collaboratively toward more consistent, transparent, and efficient outcomes.
This is a starting point — to align, to advocate, and to drive positive change for our sector, our communities, and the future of construction in New Zealand.
You are not battling this alone we are bringing the entire sector together.
